Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who has been sick for quite a while over a pancreatic condition, investigated a half-built scaffold on Mandovi waterway on Sunday in his first open appearance since he spent a long time in doctor’s facility at Delhi.
He had a medical appendage suspended from his nose and wearing a safety helmet and gave off an impression of being strolling with support. Mr Parrikar likewise evaluated another extension, over Zuari River, close Panjim.
The CM Parrikar, 63, has been recovering from a medical procedure at his private home in Goa since October 14 and this is the first occasion when he has moved out of the house, authorities said.
A senior functionary of the chief minister’s office said Mr Parrikar went around 6 km from Porvorim to Merces to investigate the extension, the third over the Mandovi.
The bridge, which is assumed to be finished one year from now, will connect Panaji to the rest of north Goa. Mr Parrikar got off his vehicle at the site and examined the advancement of the work with authorities of the Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation and contracting firm Larsen and Toubro, said the official.
